Vavyin Galpris is the head of the Crescent Moon Battalion, Aranthaes’ elite Merchant Police force. She is a master of stealth and subterfuge, trained in the art of assassination and skilled in both melee and ranged combat. Vavyin has dedicated her life to protecting her merchant paymasters from threats both within and outside the city.

Vavyin grew up on the streets of Aranthaes Wynds, learning to fend for herself at a young age. She fell in with a group of thieves and began honing her skills in stealth and pickpocketing. However, after a botched heist left several of her comrades dead, Vavyin decided to turn her skills towards a more noble pursuit. She joined the Crescent Moon Battalion and quickly rose through the ranks thanks to her natural talent and determination. Now, as the head of a Merchant Police battalion, Vavyin is a respected and feared figure in Aranthaes, known for her unwavering dedication to justice and her ruthless efficiency in dealing with her sponsor’s enemies.

Actions

Multiattack. Vavyin makes two melee attacks or two ranged attacks.
Shortsword (Masterwork). +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d6+5) piercing damage plus 10 (3d6) Sneak Attack damage if applicable.
Shortbow (Masterwork). +8 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d6+4) piercing damage plus poison (see Poison Use).
Poison Use. Vavyin can coat a weapon with poison as a bonus action. Targets must succeed on DC 15 Con save or take 7 (2d6) poison damage and be poisoned until the end of their next turn.
Assassinate. During her first turn, Vavyin has advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn’t taken a turn. Any hit against a surprised creature is a critical hit.
Uncanny Dodge. When an attacker hits her with an attack, Vavyin can halve the damage.
Evasion. When subjected to an effect that allows a Dex save for half damage, she instead takes no damage on a success.
