Nyx is a skilled half-elf rogue who serves as Orilia Thorne’s personal assistant, scout, and infiltrator.
Her nimble fingers and sharp mind make her an expert at picking locks and disarming traps, and her shadowy abilities allow her to move unseen and unheard through even the most dangerous environments.
Born far beyond the island’s shores, Nyx grew up in a world where quiet hands and a quick escape were worth more than coin. She survived by learning to read danger in a heartbeat – the twitch of a guard’s eye, the shift of a merchant’s stance, the subtle tension before violence.
Though she never speaks of her early years, the scars on her back, knees, feet and knuckles and the precision of her movements betray a life forged in places where mistakes were fatal.
She first came to Aranthaes as part of a smuggling ring, hired for a single infiltration job. The job was a disaster – but her response was not. While others panicked, Nyx adapted, escaped, and delivered the objective alone.
That was the night she caught the attention of Orilia Thorne.

Orilia saw potential in her that Nyx herself had long stopped believing in: discipline, perception, and an unspoken hunger. Nyx accepted Orilia’s offer of employment without hesitation, though she would later insist she simply chose “better pay.”
In truth, it was the first time someone had looked at her not as a tool, but as a weapon worth sharpening.
Under Orilia’s guidance, Nyx honed her rogue talents into something sharper and quieter than street survival. She learned languages, diplomatic etiquette, coded communication, and the art of appearing invisible even in plain sight.
Today, she is the shadow that moves at Orilia’s command – the agent who enters locked rooms, retrieves hidden truths, and removes obstacles with elegant finality.
Utterly loyal, Nyx is the whisper in Orilia’s ear and the unseen blade behind her. Few know her name, fewer still her face, but every major figure around Aranthaes has heard the same quiet warning:
“If Nyx is near you’re already too late.”
